They sound nice but doesn’t seem like it goes with a wallet…

I would have the groom take them with him the day of the wedding. I have been to several weddings where groomsmen forgot to bring dress socks.

I think it’s a great idea.  Someone is bound to forget socks or bring the wrong color.  I recently went to a black tie event with my Fiance.  We went to pick up his tux about an hour before our event and he was wearing navy socks.  Of course, they were the only socks he had with him. Not a big deal, but I could totally tell the difference when he was sitting down and the pants rode up.  I even mentioned how I was going to buy the groomsmen black socks (and him because he would otherwise show up with white or navy again!) for this exact reason.

If you are giving them wallets, I might enclose a gift card in each wallet, or maybe tickets to an upcoming sporting event, that you know they would use. I think it would be an extra nice surprise to find something inside the wallet when they open it.

I’m a practical girl too, and always put a 3 pack of dress socks in my husband’s Christmas stocking.

But, if they’re renting tuxes, they usually come with socks that they get to keep.  I might find it strange to receive socks from a friend who just made me PURCHASE my own.

If I got socks with the wallet, I’d think the wallet was cheap.  Much better as a single gift.
