wow 8 guys is a lot!!  I really like what we did but it was a bit more then $12. We got ours Leathermans with names engraved!  it was really nice and special and fit them well.

you may want to think about upping the budget?  These are obviously really special people in your lives.  people dont really use shot glasses once out of college and its not really a nice enough gift on its own 🙁  If you want to go with a type of personalized glass maybe to a set of pint glasses with their initials??

@Creasetul:  $12? I think you need to seriously consider upping your budget for those gifts.  Afterall, they have to spend $$ for a tux and various other expenses to be in your wedding.  $12 just seems very cheap imo.

@nursemel:  I completly agree!! Its sad that you are only willing to spend$12 on each groomsman, obviously they are special enough to put in your wedding, you guys decided on 8 so you really need to be willing to spend more $ on them.  $12 wont get you much of anything

@wstonesifer707:  I like the idea of including a bottle of whisky ect with the shotglass! but a shotglass alone comes off cheap!

I didn’t set a budget but in the end $10-$15 is our budget. We have 4 groomsman and you can find $12 gifts that are worth $30-$40 in the end. Our groomsman gift so far are 2 bottles of beer salt (which was free because I work in promotions but it cost about $2 each bottle at the store), a credit card bottle opener (which was also free from my job but often cost about $3 per item), we are putting a water bottle (the ones that looks like a cup with a straw attached to it which helps from not spilling or sweating) we found these at the dollar store for a dollar, we are planning on filling them up with stuff to help with a hangover. We also, got them engraved pens from vista print, they was on sale for $4 a pen, we have a bottle of water that is inside of a koozie that says, “eat, drink and be married” (got off oriential trading for like $5 for a set of 25), then we are adding a mini bottle of liquor and I recently found beer bottle mustaches (which you put over your beer and when you drink it it gives you a mustach. (found on ebay for $11 for 6). Then I also found money engraved money clips at Michaels on clearance for $1 but I was only able to find 2 out of 4.

So in the end, I believe we spent about $15 on each bag. You can alway give a bunch of little things instead of trying to just get 1 thing. Good luck.

We bought them each a set of cufflinks and then put together a small “guys” package. We bought them each a 6 pack of their favorite beer, a pint glass and pretzels. So classy I know. 😉

we found beer pilsner glasses at our local dollar tree, i took scrapbooking gold letters and added them to the glass for their initials ( with the sitcker it would have to be hand washed) or you can do a DIY etched look (google instructions) we got my girls wine glasses from there too, and for our ushers they had glass beer mugs…we also are doing pocket bottle openers…and then we made a “survival” kti for the day of that has shaving cream, razors, black socks( cause i know at least one guy will show up with white) mints, lighters ( some of the guys smoke) cologne, comb, and deoderant.

I don’t necessarily agree with people saying $12.00 isn’t a large enough amount of money to spend.  I mean, yeah $12.00 doesn’t sound like a lot but if you bargain shop and use coupons you can def get a nice gift for that amount.  I mean look at @Miss Coyote:  (genius by the way, lol that pretzel and beer idea is great.  We have one groomsmen who doesn’t drink but if they all liked beer this would be an awesome idea for us) & @actime:  got a bunch of NICE stuff for only like $15!  You just gotta shop around.

In the end people won’t know how much you spent on the gift — just get something that suits your people.  Maybe add a personalized thank you note?  I don’t really have any suggestions for you, lol.  We haven’t figured out groomsmen gifts either.

@Creasetul:  Don’t feel bad.  *hugs*  You’re not cheap!  You’re spending what you can spend which is SMART!  Don’t go and spend $25 if you can’t.  Your friends would not want you to go out and buy a pricier gift and put you guys in an uncomfortable position financially.
