@Creasetul:  I mean we are buying for 8 people. And it is the thought that counts… seriously. I didnt expect to be called cheap…I was asking for help finding a gift around that price. I just don’t see how people can afford spending 25 on each attendant and pay for their own wedding…

No one made you have 8 groomsmen though. YOU chose to have that many, being able to afford a decent groomsmen gift should have been part of factoring in how many you have in your wedding party.  Most people I know that have large wedding parties do so because they can afford to.  I just personally think the gifts to the wedding party shouldn’t be an area you skimp on, surely you can cut back on something else so they can at least feel like they were appreciated.

again i think that shes doing what she can and its more meaningful to most people to have a gift that is thoughtful and means something rather than have an expensive gift that means nothing other than the price tag. and most people dont consider the cost of gifts when asking their closest family and friends to be part of their big day. they want those special people involved. and most people will say yes to being in a wedding regardless of what gift they are going to get! most are just happy to be there and stand up for their family and friend on their special day.

My initial thought was that it was a bit low, people spend a lot of money and time to be there for you on your wedding day, through all the other events that they have to attend etc, and it’s not necessarily the price tag that I thought was a problem, more that it would be hard to find something meaningful for that price. However that’s obviously not true because tougher posters managed this and did a great job. I’d just get a bit more creative than a shot glass. You could totally do that but add something in like a small bottle of tequila, or maybe do a shaving kit bag and fill it with a few essentials. There are a ton of ideas on etsy that you could go with, personalized golf ball markers, cuff links, cigar boxes, etc. but yeah I’d just get creative and se what you can come up with! We haven few small random things we are throwing in for the gms that were very cheap they are all iPhone users so I bought these, I tried one yesterday and they totally work!

Hey

Here is the perfect solution to your problem. I tell you this is my favorite Groupon. The $17 for $70 at Vistaprint. I bought so many custom stuff for the wedding party with this deal. Custom, T-shirts, hats, bags and even pens. Good luck. Sometimes they even have free shipping when you spend $75 so all you have to do is spend $5 more and you get free shipping. In the end, you are still under your $10 a person budget ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s not because I work there, but you can get really nice beer glasses at Pier1 Imports! Seriously!
There are other ideas they can give you once you are there! If I started naming everything they had, it would take days!!

I love the custom text cufflinks that I found on Etsy at http://www.firstdance.etsy.com

My wedding is in October and I ordered a custom set of resin cufflinks for my fiance and for all 6 of his groomsmen.  (shhh..I made sure that the set I gout my soon to be groom says, “last call”)I had such a good time coming up with what I wanted each to say that would really represent each individual guy.

Very affordable and they even gave me a price break because I ordered several pairs.

$12 is totally reasonable. My fiance and I are giving our guys personalized cuff links and beer mug. We got the cuff link blanks from this etsy seller http://www.etsy.com/listing/65042643/5-pairs-10pcs-shiny-silver-plated-cuff?ga_search_query=cuff%2Blinks . We are going to put their favorite hockey team logo on them. For the beer mugs we will put their initials. The mugs are from Dollar Tree, only $1. Here is a tutorial for the mugs. http://diy.weddingbee.com/topic/groomsmen-beer-steins .

I also came across these personalized flasks. You can get 5 of them for $45. I think $9 for an engraved flask is a great price. You can give them the flask, mug and cuff links for around the $12 you want to spend. Good luck, and have fun with it.

The dollar store has incredibly nice beer steins for 1$.  We got a bunch of those for groomsmen and really all the important men in our lives, (father, uncle, cousin etc) and had them engraved.  Not sure how much that all came out to.  But even the beer steins alone were pretty nice, very heavy.  We got compliments on them at Things Remembered…the salespeople said they looked nicer than the ones they carried.

We are also getting our guys a 6-pack of their favorite beers.

Best Men (we have 2) we got them custom swiss army knives.  We also got the two younger boys custom swiss knives…with mom’s approval.

And we’re planning on buying the all the guys their ties…so they match ๐Ÿ™‚
