Hello all! Question…the colors that are being used in our wedding are “plum & lime”….simply put purple and green. My BMs are wearing a “plum”ish color dress. My fiance wants a textured vest for the guys~ but the purples are waaaay too purple-y to even consider. So I was thinking of going for a lighter green vest. So–the girls would be wearing a darker purple & the boys would be wearing a lighter green… Would that look tacky? Completely reconsider?? Opinions please!

I think it sounds nice. If you want to tie the purple into the groomsmen’s outfits, maybe you could get purple ties?

I think its fine if the guys are in lime while the girls are in purple. I would not put both purple and green on the guys unless you want them to look like th Joker!

@queenbee0911: I am also currently considering this. Our colors will probably be eggplant as the main color and teal (or aqua) as an accent color. I do not want the boys to have to wear purple, so I’m thinking their ties and accessories will be aqua. I’m not sure if it would look cluttered if their boutonniere would incorporate purple…?
I’ve gotta start looking at more inspiration photos to figure this out.
@EastMeetsBarn: lol @ the joker!

Wedding party doesn’t have to be matchy-matchy and often looks best when in separate but complimentary colours, just as long as the men match and then the women match, separately.

I think that striped or patterned ties are a good way to tie in the wedding colors.
And no, they won’t look like the Joker.

My colors were purple, blue, and green. My bridesmaids wore navy but the groomsmen wore charcoal vests and ties. I wasn’t a big fan of the purples and I don’t like navy and black together so we went with charcoal and purple and blue for the boutonnieres so they’d tie in the colors.
