We are having our groomsmen purchase their own suits to wear for the wedding. Where has everyone else had their guys purchase their suits? Would it look weird to have different suits on everyone?
What do you guys feel about all the same suits for the groomsmen and a different suit for just the groom?

We are getting suits at Men’s Warehouse, it’s 50% off the total order for the wedding party, shirts and ties included. The suits don’t even have to match! Both of our fathers are going in to get new suits and there’s will be 50% off as well. The good thing about Men’s Warehouse for us is that they are all over the country and will have the information available at all of their stores– most of our groomsmen are out of state. We are going the matching route because it is the FI’s preference, but I love the mismatched look…especially khaki’s with sportscoats! I would be careful if you told everyone to wear a ‘black suit’– suits come in tons of variations of black. Good luck with your search!

Do you have a Burrlington Coat Factory? We bought CK suits there (including shirts and shoes) for less than $150 each. I think they were really $130 and they all looked fantastic. I took them all shopping myself so we were able to get them all the same suit in different sizes easily.

We were told that the wedding party deal is on all the time at Men’s Warehouse. There are a couple of lines not included.

We waited until Jos A Bank had a big sale (I think it was buy two get one free or something) and ended up getting 6 suits for $136 each.

@beignet: Which fabric swatches did you get from them? I think we are too ordering from studio suits just a little nervous but overall the reviews seem positive.

We found great deals at the outlet mall at Van Heusen and Perry Ellis. Until we realized that one of our big guys would not fit in the sizes they have there. We are ordering our charcoal suits from makeyourownjeans.com. I loved it because we could choose all the details like slim notch lapels, three button cuffs, etc for the suits. Excited to get them! And By The Way the suits after shipping will cost about $125 each.

We purchased suits from Mens Wearhouse when they had their Buy-1-Get-1-Free Anything in the store sale. We chose a gray suit and had the guys go in to get measured (free). When the sale came around, Darling Husband bought all of the suits, shirts, ties, and pocket squares. The Groomsmen paid part of it back, the rest was DH’s gift to them. Once we confirmed everything was ordered correctly, MW shipped the suits to the guys who weren’t local. We didn’t consider having Darling Husband in a different suit, but I think it could look nice.
