I am in no way affiliated with Groupon or the Boardwalk Photo Booth Rental company (nor do I have any experience with them! :)), but just wanted to give a heads up to my fellow bees that there’s a deal posted in which you can get a 3 hour $800 Photo Booth rental for $400. In the discussion section they recommend you contacting them before you buy to make sure that your date is available.
Hope this helps someone out!

That’s great if you live in Philidelphia. I tried to pull that info up for the Northern VA area and it didn’t give info but for another site. π That’s a pretty good deal though.

I’ve been hearing a lot about groupon lately. Can you fill me in on how it works? Do they just email you the deal of the day? Or do you get lots of spam from them?

i wish we had that on boston groupon! great deal!
@BlueChampagne: i am from MA & have only done groupons here. but a business makes a deal with the company to offer a service at a greatly discounted price, provided groupon sells a certain number of them. for example: if i were a salon & i wanted ppl to come in, i could make a deal with them so they would sell certificates for $10 manicures, people could only buy them through groupon & groupon keeps a cut (i think that’s how groupon makes $, that’s how the Local Deal does) but they promise me they will sell 100 of them, now i have 100 ppl coming in that wouldn’t otherwise come in, they will probably tell friends (or post on WB, hehe), and a lot will add a full price pedi or wax or something else while they are coming in. then, they went somewhere new, got a good deal, so if they’re happy they are likely to write good reviews on Yelp or where ever, which will also help salon. I LOVE GROUPON! it’s win win for everyone in my eyes (as long as it’s from a good company, but groupon has a money back guarantee i think, i’ve never had to use it though!)

yearns4god : Yes, unfortunately the deals are region specific. You never know what’s going to come up, though!
BlueChampagne : They email you the deal of the day (and sometimes there are side deals in addition to the main one that are referenced in the email but not in the subject). It can be anything from restaurants to spas (mani pedi!) to admission — I just purchased a family pass to the Philadelphia National Constitution Center. Be mindful of when the deals expire. Groupon requires a certain amount of people to sign up for something for it to be activated for everyone.

I’m so excited to see that someone posted about this! I was ecstatic to see this deal, as I am a coupon/groupon junkit π
I nabbed it yesterday while I was at work…a few hours before I had been trying to figure out how to fit a photo booth into my budget! I talked to Scott from this company, and he seemed really helpful and talked to me about all the details π
