I’m not sure about mane and tail shampoo or other supplements.  You could try taking prenatal vitamins.  Also make sure to get regular trims so you have less split ends and minimize bleaching your hair, using heat tools, etc.

i’m not sure if it really works or it’s a placebo effect but i’ve been taking biotin.

I hear that Ovation is supposed to make your hair grow faster and thicker as well. I haven’t tried it myself but heard many good things about it.  I just let mine grow with time and had my hair trimmed and avoided blow drying my hair after washing it.

a healthy diet and protein helps hair grow faster, from what I gather from a google search!  However, avoiding split ends so my hairdresser can trim less is what I do when I want my hair longer.

I’ve heard a lot of people say that prenatal vitamins will help out.  Like the other folks suggested, you’ll want to keep getting regular trims to avoid split ends!

I have not heard about the prenatal or the shampoo you mentioned but I know when I started taking the vitamin, Biotin, it helped with the strength of my hair and nails and my hair grew pretty fast.

My hair and nails were both stronger after taking Biotin supplements daily.  The only downside is that it does effect hair everywhere so I had to shave more frequently… which I am slacking on. Surprised

Do prenatal vitamins seriously make hair grow? I heard you pee out all the extra vitamins … haha

I took biotin, did not notice any difference at all … plus people told me it will make your hair grow all over … kind of gross.

I’ve been taking Vitamin E complex and a daily multi … plus I’ve been eating so much fruit and veggies and drinking lots of protein shakes … I think that is what has worked for me.

I grew my hair out for about 2 years … I only had a few hair cuts and I got lots of treatments at the salon and used a hair mask once a week plus really good shampoo and conditioner

When I used to grow my hair out to donate to Locks of Love I would drink Knox Gelatine (I would mix it in coffee or tea so it would dissolve, otherwise it would solidify in your mouth! Gross). They actually make a Knox for Nails which helps in nail and hair growth but I would just use the regular stuff (easier to find). Also, prenatel vitamins help speed up the growth.

I would stay away from any over the counter vitamin that says for hair and nail growth. I know someone who took them an although their hair growth increased it DID NOT increase on their head – just everywhere else! Not sure if you would want that!

I also brush my hair minimally, avoid styling products, dyes, flat irons and blow drying. I have naturally straight hair so I can go to bed with it wet and wake up in the morning with no knots and completely straight. I would also only get it cut when I had to. If your not over brushing or over styling you wont have to get it cut as often because your not promoting split ends.

Hope that helps

I’m taking prenatal vitamins. It helps with my hair as well as the fact that my immune system blows. Also, I avoid any heat to my hair, don’t use hairties with metal, and am just generally kind and gentle to it. :p

Oh yeah, and trims!
