I don’t use shampoo. I condition and use olive oil. Enhances the shine.

I’ve heard taking biotin pills help grow your hair out, but I cant vouch for them.

Your hair is gorgeously long, good luck!

@SurferB: Yes, it’s below my bra strap. I’m keeping it long for the wedding but I’m looking forward to a post-wedding chop. Although I’ve always had long hair so it’s going to be a shock for me. =)

@SurferB: Ugh! That is so terrible that they screwed up. Thankfully they refunded you… it’s the least they could do!

I soak my hair in Queen Helene’s Hair Conditioner from Sally’s. It has aloe in it and I leave it set in my hair for 30 minutes 3 x’s a week. I also use Horse & Mane Conditioner I bought from Walgreens. Once a week I soak it in Olive Oil. I also take multi-vitamins with extra folic acid and b complex. It helps my nails and my hair grow.

My biggest problem wasn’t a bleaching accident, it was a gum accident. 2 days after my wedding, my hair which I had finally gotten chin length after having it fall out for months, was attacked with gum while sitting on a bench at a theme park. I had to cut my hair boy short. I cried for days. So now it’s in a shaggy awkward stage and I’m persistently trying to grow it out.

One thing for girls with oily hair, once a week use a clarifying shampoo, it helps get rid of excess oil.

Good luck on the growing!

I lost allll my hair due to medical reasons back in 2009… so I am thrilled to finally have long hair again! It is now almost down to my bra strap!

Any tip on how to stop using shampoo?

Worried my hair will look greasy….

Thanks! 🙂

I have extremely long hair (down to my butt lol) and extremely wavy. I just use herbal essence shampoo and conditioner for curly hair, never brush it when it’s wet and let it air dry. Other than that not much else.

Guess I’m just lazy! Lol

mine’s really long, below my butt now- i cut it to donate it about 3-4 years ago and cut it to about my shoulders and it’s grown back (my hair grows really quickly) i don’t dye it (i have white roots so it just stays blonde), i don’t straighten it but maybe once or twice a year and i don’t curl it, i also don’t blow dry it. i use garnier fructise 3 essential oils shampoo and conditioner. here’s a picture of my fiance and i, the best picture i could find showing my hair (i usually wear it up) but it is past my booty even not straight

@MrsJoyful80:  I wouldn’t stop shampooing all together. Try a shampoo that’s sulfate free, because that’s what dries hair out and causes excess oil production. You can try to decrease the frequency of shampooing to a couple times a week and see how your hair responds. That would be my advice!
