- Wedding: May 2011
Went with the guy to a financial planning thing today. Which was great and all… Except for seeing/discussing two of his short term goals. E-ring, and wedding.
The wedding part, fine (mostly for the honeymoon – he has 12 vacation/personal days a year, so it won’t be a long trip regardless.) So long as it doesn’t interfere with timing.
But the engagement ring, He budgeted $3K for it (and he’s using my great grandma’s diamond.) First, the MOST expensive ring I could find that I even like is $1200. The more expensive ones are WAY too gaudy for me. Second, he’s supposedly putting aside $100 a month for this.
Two more years is not going to work for me. Two more years of “girlfriend”. Two more years of “well, it’s not like you’re MARRIED.” Two more years of people asking why we aren’t married yet. NO.
I don’t want to bring it up (I don’t want to put pressure on him), but I don’t want to start crying whenever it comes to mind.
