I’ve been to weddings at both!  Gruen Galleries is a great location with clean lines and really cool artwork – they don’t have a/c though, so the mid september wedding I was at here was a bit toasty, especially during the dancing!  There weren’t a lot of catering options, says my friend the bride, and the venue manager had a strong preference towards the one she didn’t like as much. No elevator here just stairs. The ceremony was on the 3rd floor and the reception was on the 2nd floor. The space is mostly white walls and wood floors and the reception room is long and skinny with dancing on the other end of the floor. A comfortable amount of guests here is about 120 – 130

The Chicago Urban Art Society is similar to Gruen, they are both art galleries, CUAS has more wood and concrete tones, and is more square and open in the floor plan.  They have an open catering policy, since last i checked, and parking lot available in back for your guests.  More guests can also fit in this space 150-160ish with a dance floor.

Good luck with Everything!
