My fiance and I are looking to book Guastavino’s for our wedding next November 2012 in NYC. We’ve never been to a wedding there, but fell in love with the space. I’ve read a ton of reviews online of Guastavino’s, along with their sister space 583 Park, but I’d love to get a couple more reviews from couples who have held their wedding here or attended a wedding at the space. I’m especially looking to find out if you liked the food. All the food reviews were positive, but I just wanted to make sure 🙂

I am also considering having my reception at guastavinos but can not find any food reviews.
Have you heard anything ? They said we could do a food tasting for $1,000.00 but if we don’t like the food we are out the money and that would be one expensive dinner.
Please let me know if you found anything out

I was at a wedding at Guastavino’s in Sept 2011. The food was good! The wedding had a “dessert first” cocktail hour which was a little strange but all of the food was impeccably presented (passed) and really good. Dinner was stations, not sit-down and as far as I can remember everything was pretty good! I’ve just started planning but $1000 seems completely insane for a food tasting.. In general I think this was an incredible venue and I’d look here if I was having a larger wedding. Good luck!

We ended up booking Guastavino’s without tasting the food because I was able to speak with a couple of people who had been to events there and said the food was delicious. Also, I was able to find online food reviews from 583 Park which is the same owner and chef. I can’t speak to the “dessert first” cocktail hour or dinner stations – we are planning to have a traditional cocktail dinner followed by a sit down dinner.
We are going to have a tasting closer to the wedding to select our dishes and we can’t wait! We were offered the option of having the tasting beforehand and if we didn’t book the venue we would have had to pay but I don’t recall it being $1,000.
Hope this helps!
