Gorgeous! I loooove vintage/antique rings, and it sounds like you got an amazing deal on your beauty!

I have an antique spinel right hand ring that I am kind of obsessed with πŸ˜‚ It has a few tiny imperfections, but that makes me love it even more

@tbenjamin4884:  Thank you! It’s a garnet. Unfortunately not the original one that was in the ring. It exploded while they were trying to retip the prongs. That was a fun conversation when they called me lmao. But I really love that ring, new garnet or not πŸ˜€ I wear that set as a right hand set. The diamonds are from one of my grandmothers wedding sets:D

@kevinsbee:  thank you! I’m loving that emerald ring, too. It’s such a vivid color! You’re lucky to have such a beautiful birthstone. Mine is peridot, which I’ve learned to love over the years, but I love an emerald green better.

@tbenjamin4884:  your mom’s ring is going to be simply stunning! You both have such a good eye for beautiful pieces, and I think you’re very lucky to share such a close relationship with common interests. My Mom and I both love shopping for fine jewelry together, too.  We hit antique stores, pawn shops, local sales, and gem and mineral shows together.  I’m really bummed that the annual gem and mineral show for our area has been cancelled for this year. I usually save up for the show and come away with at least one new custom or vintage piece.

I  believe I’ve heard that style of ring being referred to as a “Shield” ring.  That sapphire will really stand out in the setting.  I love that sapphires come in so many colors, don’t you?  It gives September babies so many different colors to choose from when looking for a birthstone ring.  Most of us are stuck with just one. 😁  I can’t wait to see the finished ring!

Here is my oldie. Burgendy spinel set in platinum. It no longer fits my fingers though so up for sale it goes.
