Just an update. I called them up during my lunch break for the pre-emptive strike and explained politely my situation. Right away the woman said "just alter it." I told them I didn’t think that was the best solution since I could fit in a smaller size. Then she replied with the "no refund/no exchange" line which I replied to with "my friend exchanged hers last month" then I was put on hold. 3 minutes of Musak later she said there was nothing in my file that said I was to be granted an exchange or refund. So I explained to her why it would be nice of her to oblige me rather than force me to alter a dress, I then asked why it would be so hard to just get the same dress in another size? She gave me the line about the reciept which worked in my favor since I purchased on the phone and I did not see the reciept until after the purchase was made: THERE WAS MY OUT! She then began to crack then eventually somewhat break. She said "come in tonight and we might be able to exchange it." So, there is my glimmer of hope. I will still update after I get back from the store and let you gals know if they will stay true to their word.

DON’T LET THEM SCREW YOU OVER. Seriously how hard it is to exchange a dress? they just want those ridiculous alteration fees to themselves!!!
Policies are only policies…they change quite frequently on a case by case basis.

I use to work at David’s Bridal. They SHOULD let you exchange the dress for a different size.

Davids Bridal may let you exchange it. It has happened I saw it with my own eyes. She talked to the manager and she said she would do an even exchange (the original was still the same price as when she purchased it) Stay calm and prepare what you are going to say. If they put up a struggle let them know that you are a bee, moderator, extremly avid contributor of WeddingBee and see if they budge! Let us know tomorrow how it goes!

I don’t know – though they’re a huge chain and have a ton of stock, they always say it’ll take AGES to get a dress ordered.

Did we ever find out if she was able to exchange the dress? I don’t really like David’s Bridal policies.
