Based on the pros and cons, I would go with the photo guest book. Honestly, I’ve never seen one of those and I wouldn’t be bored by it! I love looking at pics like that. You’re older guests–especially the ones not on social media–would probably love the chance to see them! Plus, I think that would be the coolest thing to keep later after the wedding and look back through.

Also, I like the canvas ideas floating around. Guest book trees, having a picture of you on a canvas for guests to sign, having a wooden letter of the first letter of your last name. Just things that you can definitely display and see all the time.

@mm13:  I like all of your ideas, but I think that the engagement photo book is the best. Some guests might find it a little difficult to sign some of those things and some people might want to write you a little note (in my graduation guest book my mom wrote a novel). you spent all the money on the engagement photos and I think that it would be great to get a lot of use out of them!

We had Jenga Pieces as ours 🙂 I love reading the messages when we randomly play it, the wrote all around the blocks, some just signed, but it’s everyone that attended and that’s whats nice

We put all the pieces in a basket on the day and the Best Men ensured they were all signed 🙂 We had a Guest Book too cause my Gran bought us one and I felt bad not using it, It sits on the shelf, and to be honest we don’t really look at it

How about a picture frame? You can buy them at Michaels and it has enough room for tons of people to sign, then you can put your wedding picture in the middle and always have it displayed. Kind of a ‘timeless’ idea since you can put it anywhere!

If we were getting E-pictures done I would probabaly do the book. Cute, easy, and a way to show them all off! I was going to do one of the thumb print trees for ours but I think I may do they jenga since it’s more room for actual notes. Or do the tree AND jenga or jars to  leave notes in.

i love the jenga pieces.  if you like to play games, it’s perfect.  i’m sure you will see the messages more often than if you just had a book.  i wish i did the jenga thing.

@mm13:  I know everyone is doing it, but I’d really go with the photo book. the Jenga pieces are still hard to write on, the puzzel you’ll never use/see the back of, wine bottle too small and the quilt is going to get tattered and torn. The engagement photo book is something that you put on your coffeetable forever and it’s like a scrapbook of this moment in your life. I like tieing it all together.

i said ‘other’. if i had to choose between those, i’d say engagement photo book for the reasons you listed. large guest list and you can show off your photos. another pro is that they can write a lot in it, long messages to you.

i chose ‘other’ because  we’re doing something fun and alternative that I really like. we bought a ton of vintage post cards off of etsy, we’re putting them out in a suitcase and letting our guests choose a postcard, write their message on the back and put it in a basket. then after the honeymoon i’m going to bind them into a cute little coffee table book. 🙂

We’re doing a guest book quilt.  We were originally going to do the e-pic photo book but I like to sew and I think that a quilt is something that we could pass down to our kids someday.  Granted, it is going to be a lot of work!  But I figure, there is no huge rush to finish the quilt.

Here’s the pattern we finally decided on: http://www.modabakeshop.com/2010/09/meandering-path-quilt.html
