I’m not wanting an actual book for the guest book, I’m wanting something I can frame and hang on the wall. My ideas so far are…
The wooden first letter of my new last name when we are married. Have the guests sign the letter.
A photo of the two of us in the middle of a big white sheet (matting, is that what it’s called?) and they sign on the white
I large canvas sized photo of us with a beautiful background they can sign the background
I saw one on butterfly cutouts, after the guests signed them and after the wedding we dlue them into a box frame (our theme isn’t butterfly but it is native american style and my native american name translated is Wondering Butterfly so I’ve had a soft spot for butterflies since a teen when I got the name)
Any other ideas?

I think the butterflys are very pretty but what if someday you don’t want a bunch of butterflys on your wall? We did a fingerprint tree and love how it turned out. Sorry for the crooked picture.

Love the butterflies, here is another one I quite like: http://www.etsy.com/listing/89924276/wedding-guest-book-alternative-3d-heart?ref=sr_gallery_7&ga_search_query=heart+paper+guest+book&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=CA&ga_search_type=all&ga_facet=heart+paper+guest+book This whole shop has tons of nice ones.
Personally I think a framed photo with heavy matting is a very nice, practical option and that’s what I voted for. Especially because you can throw an engagement photo in for them to sign, and then switch it out with a wedding photo after the wedding.

I really like the butterfly idea, I would suggest putting them on a board that is framed or something because if you move and have to take each one down that could be frustrating. And I would do two a different color to represent you and FH

We’re getting a set of decorate mirrors [like the ones you hang in your living room], and adding a dandelion decal, similiar to this :
except there will be 3 or 4 large ones, and our guests can side it with paint pens.
We’re also doing a guest book, and wishing tree [with wooden tags, we might make some type of wall art out of those too, not sure yet]

- Wedding: August 2013 - Rocky Mountains USA
We’re using this beautiful birch forest print from etsy – the guests sign the leaves (like a fingerprint tree but not as messy). All the colors are customizable.
Otherwise, I like the wooden letter idea the best.

@kris325: I think if the butterfly guestbook flows well with your theme, you should go for it. I think you should also factor in how time consuming making a homemade guestbook could become especially if it doesn’t turn out well. But I also think that depends on how crafty or not so crafty you are! =) I like the trees with the leaves (where you have guests write well wishes) or the tree with the fingerprints. I think it all depends on what you and Fiance want in regards to what you are going to do with the guestbook after the wedding! =) ETSY is definitely a great place to get ideas or find guestbooks. Good luck! =)
