My fiance and I were in a long distance until now ( we are together finally!) however, we met online almost 5 years ago and dealt with long distance for the past those years. We thought of having a mail box that is decorated nicely and have our guests write us notes or messages as a guest book just like we did when we were in a long distance. We thought would be nice touch since we did something like that.
I been thinking that I would like to have the guests notes and signs on one of those guest book frames, however, I know thats been done a lot before, but its something nice to have after the wedding on the wall.
Which one would you do?

I LOVE the mailbox idea! Go for it, it is sentimental and something you can keep forever.

Why not do both? You could have the frame and mailbox on the same table. If you made a sign that mentioned something like, “Please sign our picture frame guestbook and also leave a note or piece of advice and drop it in the mailbox.
That way you would have the picture frame to display in your house with all of the signatures from your guest and also have the personal notes for you to flip through.

If you go with the mailbox, you can later have them framed the way YOU want it and not go with the “store bought” type. It would be the best of both worlds! (You get the mailbox AND frame! Plus, you can use the mailbox later. Either for your house (depending on where you live) or even to put the mail in, instead of on the table 😉

You could include postcards from your backgrounds? Like some of the colleges you went to, some from where you grew up, or some other cities that have meaning.. then let the guests pick which postcard to sign?
