I’m a book nerd, so we used a big, hardback dictionary for our guestbook. We had a little sign next to it to let people know that we wanted them to actually write in it and encourage them to find words that made them think of us.
It was really funny and sweet to read afterwards! And since it’s a dictionary, it’s just out on a bookshelf in the living room instead of being buried in my closet or something.

megm1099 : we had matted and framed two large prints that we loved (they are screen printed reproductions of historic WPA NPS posters). Guests signed the mats, and we now have them hanging above our couch in our living room.

I like the ones where it is something you can display in your home. I absolutely LOVED the painting one PP posted with everyone signing/writing messages in pretty ink on the leaves. I’ve also have friends who’ve done the thing where everyone signs a little wood heart and drops it into a frame, and my brother did the globe signing thing.
I would love to do the painting one but we are having a Destination Wedding so I don’t think it’s feasible for us (anything we bring out there we have to fly back).

One friend got married in her hometown (well-known tourist destination in the South) and she and her husband were going to be living 3 states away- she had a coffee table book of different places in Hometown City and we all signed it.
Another friend designed a custom hardback book with pictures from their engagement shoot and left spaces within the book for us to sign.
Had another friend do puzzle pieces! I think the major thing is to think about how you display things in your home- if you don’t want the guestbook equivalent to be just shoved in a box, what things do you like to display and how can you turn that into something for people to sign? There are so many options!

We had a scroll since our theme was Shakespearean…
The plan was to to display it in a cloche but I haven’t got around to unpacking our wedding things LMAO…we had over 300 guests..

xraychick01 : we are having one of these too. Not this exact one but the same idea. It’ll go up on the wall with wedding photos when it’s done

- Wedding: November 2019 - City, State
Just went to a wedding this past weekend and they had a guitar that guests were signing, because they groom is a musician (and the bride loves music).

laura1206 : We went to a wedding last month and a drop box is what they had. I thought it was such a great idea and easy to display at home!

We are doing a polariod scrapbook! Guest takes a picture (cousins are handling this) and they tape it in and sign their name 🙂

Loving all these ideas! We are doing decorative oars! We have a slight nautical theme to our wedding so we’re having navy oars that people will sign with a silver sharpie or something 🙂 They are going to go in our family room

We are having everyone sign an oversized peice of matboard. When we get our wedding pictures we will put one in the frame with the matboard.

- Wedding: October 2019 - Chateau Lake Louise
megm1099 : We’re having a destination wedding with a travel theme, so I was pretty sure I wanted a map style guestbook. I love old maps, and have been looking for the right one to hang on the wall as decor anyway, so this seemed like the prefect way to do it for us.
There are lots of different styles on Etsy – I’m still on the fence a bit
Another option I’m considering is a Bathymetric chart: We’re getting married at Lake Louise, so I thought it would be amazing to have a chart made of the lake, and then have people sign the glass with a metallic pen…

Oh my goodnes I love this! The scroll is so neat! Plus, it’s “pretty” when stored in a corner or something – that’s what I’m going for! All these ideas are fabulous – I love how creative you guys are!

- Wedding: August 2018 - Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills
We had a phone audio guestbook where guests could pick up the phone and leave a message for us. We are getting a digital download file of everyone’s messages.
