@LilLis:  I wish the ones not responding were people that didn’t matter… i finally put my foot down and said no more. If they haven’t RSVP’d as of yesterday sorry about their luck the invited went out 2 MONTHS AGO!! so I am at 88 out of 114…but my final catering # will be 92 b/c i have this horrible feeling that (4 of the nonresponders) will just show up unannounced and we can’t do anything about it since its FIs stepbrother & stepsister and their kids….smh…(i’m secretly hoping they don’t show)

I’ll say this too though…my justification for going over my original # of 85 is that we will have about 15 children attending ranging from ages 7 months to 9years…none of these kids will eat full adult sized meals….

I am also newly engaged im getting married August 23, 2014 ! I started with writing down every person I could think about, we both went through our facebooks and got list from our parents with that being said the guest list was wayy over 300 people. so we started to cut the people we really dont talk to anymore if its been over 3 months we cut them.. we are allowing sigles to bring dates still but we are having an adult only reception. so far we got the list to 240 and I am guessing between 194-200 will be our end count!

We started by writing down everyone we’d like to invite.  I had 70 people and Fiance had 100!  Everyone had a plus one.  We narrowed it down by cutting out friends and extended family who we don’t talk to regularly anymore and cutting plus ones for our singles.  Now, the list is at 102.  It was tough but necessary due to budget and space. We’re paying for the wedding ourselves.
