Make a line and no exceptions.  For example:

– No cousins
– No second cousins
– Only friends you see frequently socially
– No coworkers

Basically, draw an equal line and go from there.  We had cousins, friends we see regularly (or keep in good contact with), coworkers we see socially.  We limited +1s wherever possible.,

We started with immediate families, then extended families (only aunts/uncles/cousins that we actually talk to). Then did our closest friends and closest family friends which included some co-workers.

It was actually a pretty easy process for us. We only have 2 kids in the family, so that wasnt an issue. And most of our 75 guests are married or in a relationship so everyone got a +1. We didnt have any “strangers” at our wedding.

We didnt invite anyone that we havent talked to in years and we didnt invite any acquintances or anything like that. i think our guest list was the easiest part of planning!
