Hi Rosie, I understand your situation. What we did was think about it in a ‘circle’ way. Like your closest circle is immediate family, they all get invited. Then the next circle is extended family/close friends (like really close, not just any friends) and for most people that number is under 100. When we realized this number was manegeable, we extended the circle to a few close coworker, but seriously under 5 and only bosses. If we have a lot of people RSVP no, we have a B-list of friends who aren’t the super-close friends and some extra coworkers who we are close with but didn’t make the A-list for coworkers.

Hope that makes sense!

We’re in the same boat! We only wanted 100ppl but after we made our list we cut off as many people as possible and still ended up with close to 150! We were hoping since a lot of them are out of town they wont be able to make it (sad, I know) But for almost every declined rsvp in the mail we get another rsvp with someone who is bringing a guest!

Don’t worry, you’ll be surprised at how many people cannot attend. I think if you would like to have 110-115 in attendance, 150 is a good number to invite. I wouldn’t go over that though.

are you letting people bring guests? we were very strict with that. we only let first cousins come, no extended family, etc. there are a lot of people that we think “should come” that got cut, but it’s what you have to sacrifice for the small wedding.

If they rsvp with a guest anyways what are you going to tell them? A lot of the rsvp’s coming in for us that rsvp’d with a date are my fiance’s friends and he doesn’t want to tell his buddies that they can’t bring their girlfriends.
