I’d LOVE to have a max of 250-275, but I have a GIGANTIC family on both sides.  I made a dream list of all my friends and SOME of Mr. LR’s friends, and that’s already at 150 (of course, that can and probably will be cut down lol).  So realistically, we will probably be inviting anywhere from 350-400 people, due to my parents wanting to invite everyone under the sun, but, hey, they’re paying, so as long as it doesn’t kill the budget, I’m up for whatever!

ETA:  I just re-read and figured out you had a question lol!  I think it’s safe to assume 20-30% won’t attend.  In my case, I’d say it’ll be more like 10-20% because everyone lives in town.  Hope that helps 🙂

I would say to be “safe,” don’t invite more than 150 if that’s the number you want to stay under for your caterer. Yes, some will decline. But also remember, some may also decide to bring an uninvited person or to RSVP “no” and change their minds. It happens frequently, or so I’ve learned on here. So, to be safe, I would invite 150, maybe 155-160, if your ideal number is somewhere in the 140’s.

@Cem0930: Yep, very true! Went to a wedding last year where Fiance and I and another couple were the only ones that showed at our 8-seater table. :/ I know the couple was pretty upset by it. I’m attempting (ha) to not stress about our RSVPs yet.

To get close to 100, I’d probably invite 125-ish, maybe 130? Because it’s not as big of a deal if you’re over 100 and less than 150 than if you’re under 100, right? Since the catering is for at least 100?
