Our guest list is starting to get a little crazy!
Fiance and I set a goal for trying to have our guest list finalized by the end of July. We were at 200 people, including ourselves and bridal party. I’m thinking this is pretty good! Then, his parents added about 15-20 more people. Still, not too bad. Then Fiance added in more of his classmates. Last I checked, we were at 233. I was talking to Fiance tonight, and he was mentioning that he was at a barbecue with some classmates. He wanted to add a few more people, but he also knew he had to cap the number.
One way I know I can make cuts is looking at some second cousins. I am close to this group of second cousins; however, I was not invited to all of their weddings, and also, my cousins were not invited to theirs, either. I know that some will not come, especially those who are out of town. However, my mom and stepfather are paying for the reception, so I hate to limit them. I really don’t care about the reception numbers, I’m just worried about people fitting into the church. Plus, out of that 233 number, there are at least 14 people who will not be taking up seats (myself, Fiance, 5 bridesmaids, 5 groomsmen, our officiant, and our organist).
For those of you who have gone through the whole guest list fun:
- Out of all of your invites, about how many “no’s” did you receive?
- Who did you extend + 1’s to?
- I know this is a hard thing to keep count, but did you notice if you had people attend the reception, but not the ceremony?
Gotta love all of these little things :-).
