We planned for a guest count of 100 including our bridal party. after a lot of drama we ended up inviting 140. well now Im stressing because our wedding is 38 days away and only 59 people have rsvp’d. The deadline given was next wednesday 8/15 and Im so worried that we will either have over paid the vendor because we locked in at a minimum of 100 people or we will have a bunch of randoms show up to our plated dinner reception. Is this normal for everyone to wait until the last minute or am I screwed??

You’re totally in the green area! Many people wait until the last minute to RSVP. Plus, after your reply by date, you can call around and get a few more late comers.

I’m 3 days out from the RSVP date and still missing plenty of RSVPs. Its really annoying.

oh wow I feel your pain. I would just start making phone calls to remind people. Sometimes people have so much going on with work and everything else they probably don’t even realize they never responded. I pray I don’t have this same problem next year.

I’d start making phone calls. You have every right to call at this point. Be friendly and just politely ask if you can count them as guests. I think youll be ok. A lot of people wait til the last minute, but dont be scared to call them and ask!!

Ditto …. I like the idea of calling or emailing people if you can, and if you have the time.
In this day and age, and get this I’ll be 50 y/o shortly before the wedding date! we are going to have an email address JUST for rsvp’s and questions, and possibly make a webpage. And for those that aren’t big on internet stuff – give a phone number where they will get a clever message about our wedding and can leave their RSVP . After that, how could it be made any easier ????
Don’t know if we’ll even include a car to mail back. Good luck !
