I’m planning a fairly child free wedding with th exception of my god children (2) my brother, my Fi’s niece and nephew and my cousin. My question is for the 2 children that are under 2 yrs old, should I count them in mygal read tight guest list therefore giving them their own chair and plate or leave them off the list and in their parents laps which is where theyre ultimately going to sit anyway?
It just seems more resonable to leave those seats open to people that will actually fill them.

I think you should possibly talk this over with your venue – they may have a limit on guests (regardless of age) for fire safety issues. Obviously, I think under 2s probably wouldn’t need a full meal (maybe a some chips or something?), and probably won’t need a seat either, but perhaps talk it over with their parents too about what they’re comfortable with?

The venue will hold up to 200 for a plated reception, but I gave myself a 175 max because originally the plan was for 120 and I don’t want to go over the 175.
As far as speaking with the parents I’ve definitely taken that into consideration. One is my God daughter, her mom is not only my Maid/Matron of Honor, but my best friend so I know she’ll understand…besides she carries the youngest one every where which is how I know it would be a waste of a chair. The other is my Fi’s sister, so she shouldn’t mind but who knows we’ll see.
