(Closed) Guest names on back of invitation?

    May I ask what about an etiquette thread made you re-think using inner envelopes?  They are traditional and very helpful.  I am so glad I used them.

    @HisMoon:  Thank you. I searched for and found the thread to which you’re referring and read your question as well as her response. She is wise, extremely knowledgeable, and very eloquent.

    I was relieved to see that she did not discourage the use of inner envelopes but, rather, indicated that the best method of extending the invitation directly to each guest would be to write his or her name on a line directly onto the invitation. I can see why you are re-thinking your original plan. My only question would be if this still would be true of placing the names on the backs of the invitations rather than amid the formal text itself.

    I think I am in the minority thinking that inside envelopes are pointless, and think just putting the names on the back is fine. Not a big deal.
