My sister’s wedding is out of town on THansgiving weekend and we just realized we are inviting many more people than we thought. Half are from NewEngland, near the wedding sight, and the other half are from out of town. WHat approximation should we be looking at for RSVP Yes and NO.

I think generally it’s 15-30% that decline, but take that with a grain of salt. At my friend’s wedding there were about 100 people invited and all but 4 showed up. For my wedding we already have almost a 60% decline percent and there are still 2.5 months to go.

I have a few questions…
1. Why are you inviting people to your sister’s wedding?
2. How do you not know how many people you invited? Presumably you had to order invitations and mail them? (since you are inviting people to your sister’s wedding, apparently)

We invited 120 and ended up with about 104 and I got married at the beginning of December. I think it all depends on how close your family is – we had a lot of older folks decline becuse they couldn’t travel, that was about 6 invitations, and we had a few more people fall sick, that was about 4.
