@Firefighter_Bride: First off, I love this general idea. Would you have the guests insert them into a binder? (maybe with business card slotted clear sheets?) Or they could even drop their cards in a fishbowl 🙂

My concern is that, most likely, the cards from vista print will be a glossy finish. Which might mean that normal pen won’t write very nice on them… and marker would smudge/have a dry time.

I do know some places offer business cards in a linen finish – and that might be a better choice for this project 🙂

You can get these through Vistaprint with no restrictions. Sometimes you are not able to customize the font because they are free but I paid like $8 and was able to customize folded business cards for my table escort cards. I even called customer service at vistaprint and they helped me create a design I had used on my save the dates.

I’m 99% positive that they are a matte finish. You have to pay extra for the glossy finish. I think this sounds like a great idea.

I bought some business cards from Vistaprint, and they were matte finish.  I don’t think that would be a problem at all.  I like the idea!

If you sign up for the “Business” emails and stay away from the wedding list then they will send you tons of free offers.  We ordered postcards and are doing something similar to what you are thinking.  I got them with the linen finish, so they are easy to write on.  I am going to have the postcards bound into a book after the wedding.

I actually set up a seperate hotmail email just for the business offers from vistaprint just to make everything easier.

Its a good idea, but just so you know…a wedding I was invited to used them as insert cards and on the back it does say  vistaprint.com & if I remember correctly, sorry its been over a year…something like go to vistaprint.com to get your free business cards. so as long as your okay with that on the back its a great idea!

We ordered our STD postcards from them and I have used them in the past.  They are a great company that has lots of great free products.  You really only have to pay for the cost of shipping and any upgrades you make i.e. I added 3 more photos to the one free upload and they were $4.99 a pic.  You can choose the matte finish as well.  Vistaprints is a great resource for Brides!

I got the 250 free cards, and they were indeed matte finish and they didn’t say Vista Print on the back. I hope that helps, they’re really very nice.

I like the idea, I just think that maybe index cards or note cards would work a little better cuz they would give guests more space to write. I know I write pretty big so I wouldn’t be able to fit much on a business card.

I’ve ordered business cards from them before.  I believe you can get 250 free premium business cards in their email offers all the time.  The premium ones can be printed as matte finish and don’t say anything on the back.  And if you keep an eye on your emails you sometimes get offers where you get free photo uploads too – then you can upload any design you want to the business card for free, you don’t have to just use their templates.
