We are doing a Wish Jar! i saw this idea on Project Wedding.com and LOVED IT!  you get a pretty looking jar, cut out little message cards and place them nicely around there and a cute sign – ours says:  “write your sweet wishes for the Mr. And Mrs.” in a really cute frame and then guests must write their message on the pieces of paper and put them into the Jar.

and another idea i am totally in love with too:  we went to a wedding this past weekend and they had a really big blown up photograph of the two of them in the cutest pose and it had a thick white border and all the guests could write msgs on the white border…it was gorgeous!

@Krispy1327: thats a really cute idea – you could buy different fabric squares at JoAnns or any fabric store. Then you could buy a fabric pen (a few of them) for people to write on. Then once it is all done you could either sew it all together or you could probably find a place that will sew it together for you. That would be really great!

@Krispy1327: We’re doing a signable pewter platter (from idoengraveables). It’s monogrammed and has our wedding date on it — just arrived yesterday, and it’s gorgeous!

Even if we don’t actually use it all that often, we can still display it with our china.

We’re doing a photo booth scrapbook. The consultant sits there and assembles it while people are getting their photos taken, then they sign next to their photobooth photo!

We’re doing a wish tree. It’s like a wish jar above, but people write their hopes and good advice, etc on a piece of paper and hang it on a tree.

We made an album using our engagement portraits with black cardstock. We will have a silver gel pen and have everyone sign in our album. Kinda like a yearbook. I know I will look back on it just to see the pics. 🙂

We are doing postcards and having my mom mail them to us throughout the first year of marriage. We bought them from Vistaprint so we were able to make our own design. We did a few versions, one with blank space to write a note and another with advice for the bride and advice for the groom and a third design with questions like what was you favorite part of the evening, whats your favorite memory of the bride or groom. Im really excited about it. This is a great thread!

@starfish: I love that idea!  I’m toying with the idea of printing a poster with our silhouettes and having our guests sign that.

My wedding is in 18 days! whoohoo!

We are doing wine corks so that I can make a small tray or something out of the corks when we are finished. We are asking people to initial, sign, or write one word that expresses their thoughts.  I know they are small, but I will never open a book so we decided to do this instead.

@knitting: My friends did something similar and have it hanging in their bedroom. It’s a great ideas because you can actually use it!

We’re also doing the photo. I uploaded a bunch of photos of the two of us on kodakgallery.com and made a book out of them. We are going to have guests sign around the photos. I think it will make a great coffee table book.
