I’m trying to pick a guestbook – mark something off the giant list of things to do.
Which one of these do you like best (these are all random etsy finds – I will probably make it myself).
We want something we can hang on the wall instead of an actual book that will sit on a shelf and never get looked at (although i might do a book too so people can say more…we’ll see)

@MsGinkgo: I’d say chose what best fits your decor at home (or the decor you plan to have at home); i prefer the fingerprint ones (whether it’s the tree or the balloon) over the Monogram or the picture frame ones…

I like them all… I LOVE Guest Books that can be used as decor in one’s home.
I am going to give you a bit of advice that is sad… but needs to be said.
Even the “sharpest” of Guests can mess this stuff up pretty bad (blame it on the alcohol)
And one bad remark, or some other tragedy, and the whole thing is spoiled (often an EXPENSIVE as well as non-correctable loss). Grrrrr !!
So my best advice is do something where you have “pieces” that Guests sign… that you assemble later…
So for example…
The Guest Book # 8 above is awesome, cause you could just make sure everyone signs a purple circle, and then you craft together the Artwork at home later.
- Signed Corks
- Blocks of Wood (Jenga)
- Souvenir Postcards
- Paper Hearts
- Messages in a Bottle (one for each Milestone Anniversary)

Confession I just posted #5 to my Pinterest! 🙂

@MsGinkgo: i voted 6 – 2 birds, one stone – huge framed wedding pic AND all your guests messages! … however i would make the photo the focus rather than the date.
easy to do yourself and SOOO much cheaper than buying ready made – we bought the frame and mount from ikea (the mount was from an unframed pic of the eiffel tower!)

I love #8 – for the reason @TTR gave, you can put the circles in yourself…& discard the ones that haven’t worked so well.

@This Time Round: I second the suggestion using “pieces”. My friend, who’s Brother-In-Law decorated the guestbook with phalluses would certainly agree with me here.
I liked 2 the best, but you could use cut out leaf pieces like the balloons in 8. I like the balloons, but having the house there makes it feel to themed-weddingy for my tastes.

@This Time Round: that is a very good point! That’s one of the things I worry about with the thumbprints.

@Jacquelinesc84: lol! I hadn’t seen anything like that one before – it’s ridiculously expensive on etsy, but I’m sure I can get someone to make it for me for way less than that!

@MsGinkgo: I forgot I had this link!!! You might have to paint it but cost less! http://www.craftcuts.com or Google it I had to write the link in!

#3 because that is what I am doing. We ordered ours off etsy – it is great!

@Jacquelinesc84: thanks! That’s awesome!! To get a 24″ letter it’s less than $30!!

I like #1!
I will second what @This Time Round: said re: drunk guests screwing it up! We had one like the tree leave signature print and it has a few little spills on it after being left out all night around all our drunk friends, haha. I honestly don’t mind – in some ways it’s representative of the day to have some drops of wine and beer on the guest book. But if that kind of thing would bother you (not to mention if someone had dumped a whole beer on the guestbook!!) – perhaps do one where you assemble the pieces later.
