If you want a more modern and updated twist… I found this article on “Modern” addressing etiquette really helpful.  

It’s still based on the traditionally Emily Post kind of set of rules, but is flexible for weird situations, and has been updated to honor more modern and egalitarian ideas. After being in an unmarried committed relationship myself for so many years, I love the idea of treating married and unmarried couples the same for addressing. I also LOVE the addressing they show where the wives are addressed as well! Women are people too! :P

ie. Mr. & Mrs. John and Jane Smith,
rather than Mr. & Mrs. John Smith.

The mothers thought this was nuts at first, but Fiance and I love it. And I love that most of this set of “rules” is about being respectful first and foremost. :)
