My cousin who is the lead singer in a band is an awesome singer and guitar player. I was thinking of having him do our ceremony music, as it’s going to be outside and kind of vintage rustic. My problem is this, what in the world should I have him play and/or sing? We aren’t going with traditional stuff, but I was thinking just some soft lyrics and acoustic as the guests are being seated, for my walk and then for the ceremony a few more. Any ideas?

Ask your cousin. He’ll probably have some awesome suggestions. I tend to put a lot of trust in talented people’s opinions.

I agree with babylou – ask your cousin (see if he’s even willing to) and he probably will have some great ideas.
We’re doing the exact same thing, except it’s my nephew who is playing/singing for us. I just told him to pick something to play while the guests are entering, and then the BMs will walk in to the guitar intro of “Love Song” by Tesla (I’m an 80’s hairband freak). Then my nephew will sing “When You Say Nothing At All” during the ceremony and we’re still undecided on our exit (maybe “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”) To me, almost any song sounds beautiful on an accoustic guitar!

Collaborating with him is a definite.
He’ll probably be able to just play and possibly sing whatever comes to mind for prelude music.
We used songs that could easily be played on the guitar for our ceremony.
Bridesmaid or Best Man entered to The Beatles “I Will” sang by a guy friend of ours
here’s a great acoustic cover
I entered to Eastmountainsouth “So Are You to Me” sang by a girl friend of ours.. It was AWESOME!
here’s an acoutic cover sang by a guy… it’s pretty good for a cover =)
We Walked out to The Beatles “All You Need Is Love” sang by both
Whatever you find I would let your cousin hear the originals and then he should be able to cut down time or lengthen if needed =)

My Fiance played ‘In My Life’ by The Beatles on acoustic for his sister’s ceremony, and it sounded very nice.
