guynamedbry :  hi! I think the rosegold ring you found here was from j_bishae. You can check the thread Tianyu CADS and finished product. She did post a lot of pics of it there. Jump to page 13 for her pics. 🙂

I also got mine from Tianyu. Mine is a yellow gold tiffany knife edge solitaire. $350 for the ring alone, not including shipping. Took about a week before I got it but it was totally worth it! Here’s my ring:

It’s a 7mm or 1.25 ct eq DEF color H&A moissanite. My ring size is 5. Width of the band is 2.3mm.

Also, the reason why I got a DEF stone is because I wanted to have a one color metal for my ring and since I wanted yellow gold, if I got the GHI range stone it might show more yellow since the prongs would also be yellow gold. My stone still looks white to me all the time but never icy white. Just a teeny tiny hint of warmth (which I love!) thanks to the metal color. Here it is in comparison with a cz ring I own which is very icy white or plasticky looking in my opinion.

Here are pics of my ring. It’s not a round so I can’t help there but it’s a rose gold setting which I highly recommended. My ring is from

MoCo and I got the colorless option. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my ring.

guynamedbry :  I am vaguely familiar. I inquired about budget and motivations because not everyone is happy with moissanite upon seeing it and there have been complaints about staining. Another option is preowned or lab made which would address some of the ethical and environmental concerns. My diamond ring was around the same price people have reported spending on their moissanite engagement ring.

Its so nice to see a guy who listened to his gf and her wants then diving in to do some research. If your gf is sure she wants moissanite you do have a lot of options. I don’t have experience with MoCo.It seems to have varied opinions some good, some bad. You mentioned Tianyu so I’ll jump over to that arena if you’re interested. I’ve actually only done projects with StarGems which is a company like Tianyu and they have varied outcomes from them too (mostly good from what Ive seen) but their selling point is price and relatively quick turn around time (about 3 weeks from start to finish has been my experience). Cost is easily 1/3 of the price of US stores but it does take some work. I’m sure you’ve seen critiques on CADs involved in the design process. So if this is something you can see yourself doing then I would recommend Tianyu for your ring style especially if your gf likes the hearts and arrows round cut. If you don’t want to get that involved then a company like MoCo with preset styles is probably the way to go.

If you go the Tianyu route you can jump to that board and ask more questions. There are a lot of helpful bees on there.

Good luck!

happyhappybeebee :  Thank you 😊. Here is a quick picture – sorry the lighting is not better. We didn’t have a set budget, but it was about 1000.

guynamedbry :  My ring is from thetruegem.com

I absolutely would recommend them 1000%.  They were incredibly easy to work with, even though I changed my mind like 6 times during the design process.  The quality is really good and the stone is breathtaking.  I can’t take a good picture of it, but I get compliments on it all the time.

guynamedbry :  I really feel for you! There are so many kinds of moissanite now and it’s so confusing. I think the only way to be sure is to order a few different stones and see which looks best.

I have a rose gold Tiffany replica from Tianyu. It’s a six-prong knife-edge solitaire in 14k rose and white gold. The moissanite is an 8mm H&A in GH color. They have DE and F color moissy that would be fine in this setting if you want a whiter moissy. This is their stock product. I did not request any customizations. It took about one week for them to make the ring, and I received it four days after I approved the pics and video. I’m not sure how the cost of gold and labor have changed, but I’d guess you can get this done for around $450.

guynamedbry :  To clarify on the pricing, I’m guestimating $450 with an F color moissanite and shipping. If you stick with GH color, it would be about $415.
