My Fiance has been wearing his since we ordered it, even though we’re a year out from the wedding.  It’s a two-tone platinum and yellow gold band in a squared-off shape for comfort:

(not his ring, but the same shape from the same jeweler)

Before we ordered his ring, I ordered a series of (round) cheapies from ebay so that he could wear them for a few days and see what size/width he liked best.  He ended up choosing a size that was considerably smaller than the size he liked in the jewelry store with the ring sizer.  When it was time to order his real ring, we just sent the cheapie in so that they could know exactly what size he wanted.

I think it’s common for men to not take their rings off. I’ve started to wear my rings everywhere as well – including cooking and showering, which I used to be more cautious about.
My husband’s ring is titanium and he wears it all the time.
My dad wears his all the time too and it’s gold.
I think regardless of the metal, you get used to the feeling and start to feel weird without it.

Glad your FI’s looking forward to wearing his 🙂

My Fiance is wearing his already as well. He has a school ring that he’s worn for over 20 years that is 14k yellow gold and it still looks great.

The funny thing with us is that we are the opposite of most couples. He can wear his ring to work and he does wear it 24/7. I am not allowed to wear any jewelry so it only goes on for weekends and the occasional night out during the week!

My SO used to work at a climbing gym and when he would tell guys they might want to take their wedding ring off cause it might get scratched, most often they would struggle to try and get it off for a few minutes before saying nope its staying on.  I think it’s more common to leave it on for guys

My Darling Husband has the 14k gold band his grandfather wore for 60 years.  His grandfather only stopped wearing it because he couldn’t take it off for some time (arthritis) and when he finally got it off he wasn’t about to put it back on.  He wore it always unless required to remove it, even some times when he should have taken it off for safety he didn’t.  He was super happy to give it to Darling Husband.

Gold (and I’m sure white and rose too) are really durable.  They can be cut off with little effort if necessary.  Plus they bend (and can be bent back into shape pretty easily).  All good traits if someone plans on wearing it all the time.

My Fiance has an engagement ring and he takes it off less often than I do mine. His is stainless steel, and it’s gotten pretty worn down (at least the black coating on it has). He has a gold ring and another steel ring that he wears also, and has had for years, they’re in fairly good shape but you can see the wear and the gold one is bent out of shape a bit. We’re looking at black zirconium for his wedding band, maybe.

@cherriesandcream: We picked both of ours out at the same time, and combined funds to get them. He proposed to me as a surprise and we got rings several months later.

Darling Husband only takes his off if he is using something yucky like hair gel or something greasy that might get under it.  Other than that he wears it 24/7.

My husband never takes his off. That’s why he wanted tungsten instead of gold.

I take mine off all the time. 🙂

my Darling Husband wears his almost all the time and only takes it off to cook or if he’s eating something particularly saucy/greasy or if he’s working out
