It sort of depends on my FI’s wacky schedule. He’s a surgical resident and has crazy hours that are not consistent. Some months he has to get up really early (like 4:30) for work and I can’t help but get woken up too (and can’t fall back asleep…) so during those months I go in the mornings before work.
When his schedule is more normal (or, again, wacky when he gets home at 3 am and can’t help but wake me up), I go after work / before dinner.
I actually really like the morning routine…it is great to get your work out done and go about your day without worrying about it.
I wish my schedule was more consistent!

I hate getting up early, but I have to go to the gym in the morning or else I won’t have the motivation or time to do it later in the day. I commute pretty far to work; if I sleep in I have to deal with more traffic so it’s a good incentive to get a good work out in the morning since I’m early for work anyway.

this sounds funny, but during the summer months i tend to work out in the mornings and during the colder months i like working out in the evenings. (something about a chilly winter morning and working out doesn’t seem to work for me).
i’ll probably be changing up my workout routine from evenings to mornings pretty soon!! i do love the energy rush i feel in the mornings after a workout though ( i don’t consider myself a morning person, but it helps start the day! )

I have tried to get up in the morning and do it before work, but I always just end up hitting snooze on my alarm clock! I really wish I could do my workouts in the morning though! I usually do it right after work, before I sit down on the couch (because I know once I sit down I won’t have any motivation for working out!). Unless I’m really hungry after work….then I eat a lighter dinner and work out around 7pm.

I’m a late night work-outer. In grad school especially, I’d go at 9-10pm. Now I average around 8:30. For me its enough time to have gotten most everything done for the day, and I’ve had enough time for my stomach to settle after dinner.
