    I know the proper pronunciation is something like yeero, with a slight G sound in front of it. I say jy-ro just because it’s more fun (to me at least) to say.

    I say “yeee-ro”

    I used to say “euro” and my husband would say “your going to eat money?!”

    I’m pretty sure it’s Euros (maybe more like ghyeuros). We asked my greek friends once. It bothers me when people say Gyro like jyro.

    I pronounce it with a throaty “h” sound at the front so I vote “Heros” since that seemed closest.  I don’t know how to put it phonetically.
