KatieBee11:  You can to a temp fix that should hold with 4 large safty pins.  On the back of the skirt, about and inch from the zipper and hooks. Make two Z folds, on the waistband, on either side of the zipper. One on each side. Then on the inside, of the skirt, pin both sides of the Z folds with the safty pins. So you end up with a pinned section on either side of the zipper. I have done this with my nieces, when their skirts are to big around the waist and no time to sew them. If you want you can PM me. Good Luck!!

Any reputable department store,  particularly Macy’s or Nordstrom (is it open in NYC yet?) Can do this type of alteration in under an hour. These people work miracles and I’ve personally seen them do it. It just won’t be very cheap.

She’s travelling to New York for her wedding in 2 days, trying to get her skirt taken in, finding a slip, and may not have internet access. I think we are low on her list of priorities.

julies1949:  Lol thanks, doll. I don’t remember reading how she was travelling, she could be on her phone on the way there and checking through threads for all we know-considering a lot of people gave her good advice on how to fix or who to contact in NY, she very well could be checking this thread.
