BIG HUGS to you!  I have a similar story from Dec 2010 when I was ordering my wedding dress – I went back to the store I was sure I wanted to get my dress from, and had an appointment. Instead, when I got there, the owner told me that I didn’t have an appointment, and that in fact, I was late and would have to reschedule.  Tears started instantly flowing from my eyes, cartoon style! So embarrassing.

Anyway, hope you get your ring soon!

They should have let you know first and they should definitely not be taking twice as long. That’s really disappointing : ( I can understand why you’re so upset! All you can really do is try to be as positive about it as you can and focus on being able to spend time with your grandma. It’s a really frustrating situation though : ( I’m sorry they are taking so long.

Aw! I hate that for you, and honestly after some meltdowns I’ve seen, yours wasn’t bad at all! Communication with vendors of any form can get so hazy especially when you’re  dealing with a bunch of them at one time. They def should’ve been more transparent about the situation. Just try to stay positive and think how gorgeous the piece will be. : )
