@208bride:  I can’t speak for the other poster, but I’m not saying it looks uncentered or uneven.  I think it looks odd because the front is very sleek while the back is more of a messy updo and the two together don’t compliment each other well, in my opinion.

@frommisstomrs.:  Oh gotcha.  Interesting!  I don’t mind it at all 🙂 I love the slightly undone look but it would drive me nuts to have strays floating around on top of my head where it’s been pulled back.  To each her own!

@MrsPanda99:  Agreed. There’s just something about the various angles that don’t look quite harmonious.

A good hairstylist can figure out a way to make it more proportionate!

I like it! You just need some blush and I think the lipstick should be a little darker.

@Rachael1287:  I agree with a few other PPs, it looks… off.

For me, I know they are supposed to be uneven, that’s a given with a side do, but what gets me is on the one side you have three layers of volume going on (curled back fringe, top pouf, big bun) and on the other you have all kids of sleek going on.

Also, do you have a lot of hair? Your bun is huge. Like, the size of the rest of your hair huge. It just looks too big for a side do.

Oh and yes, I think you need just a little bling like a comb where your veil will sit 🙂

@Rachael1287:  I think your hair looks really pretty and as someone anonymous to you I have no reason not to be honest! Just make sure YOU love it and feel comfortable with it that way. After all, you are the one who is going to be looking at your wedding photos for the rest of your life; you want your hair to be the way you want it! But I really do think this is a beautiful, classy look. I do agree that a blingy hair comb would be pretty!

I really like it! I’m a big fan of side do’s though.

@Rachael1287:  I love it just the way it is style-wise. I would probably grab a sparkly clip or something for the side opposite all the curls.

The back pin curl area is doing a bit much and I can see every bobbie pin. I think it needs to be restructured in a way that utilizes less visible bobby pins and not that many pin curls.

Okay, I can see where the stylist was going…but like others have said, it does look a bit disjointed. Sleek and literally perfect in the front…messy (in a good way) in the back. I think it will be up to you to decide which look you want overall.

Personally, I think you would do better if the whole thing was a little looser, a little more relaxed. And I do think you need some loose curls around your face. If you are up for it, maybe get your hair cut and ask for more layers around your face so that the stylist has more to play with?

And, as someone with naturally curly hair, all you stylist has to do to achive a more coherent look is just not stretch the curl out of the hair in the first. She just needs to let it keep its texture so that you kind of get a twist effect. Hard to explain, so here is a picture….

See? Instead off pulling the hair straight back and/or brushing the curl straight back from the forehead, the stylist allowed the curl to maintain its shape even as it was pulled back towards the bun.

However, if you want the more sleek look, then she will have to control the bun a little more, but I would still recommend some loose hair around your face to soften the look just a tad.
