So, I had my second fitting yesterday! I’m having the waist and hip area taken in, I see a small difference, but not much, what do you ladies think? I also feel a little guilty toward my seamstress…she insisted starting the alterations 4 months out as she is super booked for weddings in May/June and said I would need at least 4 fittings to make sure all of the changes I wanted are incorporated. As a lot of brides do, I am in the process of losing weight before the wedding and have lost 8 pounds since the first fitting a month ago…I told her I plan to loose another 10 and asked her to take that into account when making alterations…
I make my appointments at lunch time and at the end she always tells me to “go eat!” Ha, ha.
First two are the day I picked the dress up at the salon, second two are from yesterday’s fitting.

WOW! Gorgeous dress! I see what you’re saying. The changes are subtle, but definitely noticeable. In the salon your waist is defined by the sash, but post alterations your waist is even more defined without it, if that makes any sense
It definitely shows off your beautiful shape!

I think it looks great.
However, what type of bra are you wearing in the last 2 pictures? Your “girls” are very in your face.

Love! What a gorgeous dress!

Honestly? I think she’s made it too tight. It’s puckered around the waist.

@IzzyBear I’m wearing a regular strapless bra. I did have corset back put in and had her tie it really tight. It is a heavy dress and I felt like it was going to slip down. The top was gaping open with several inches on each side. From above, the bodice was about 3 inches from my girls. The next alterations are suppose to address that as she will put in a snap in the back to secure it better and she will do a running stitch around the front to have it “hug” my top more. Funny, I didn’t notice this in the mirror, but I sure do in the pictures 🙂
@kellyk1214 Unfortunantly, the puckering is from the material. It is satin under tulle. If you notice the second pic at the salon it is doing it there too. I asked the salon if this was “normal” and of course they said yes…since I’ve bought it, I’ll just have to accept it. I didn’t notice it w/the sample, but I don’t have any pics of me in it so I can’t compare. I do plan to wear a sash so that will hide some of that.
