Ugh…sleepy today because I was having a wedding nightmare last night. I dreamt at first that I was marrying someone I barely knew and didn’t like.. I guess like an arranged marriage… then I dreamt that my wedding was pushed up so I didn’t have my wedding gown in time!! I wasn’t freaking out, I was just sad I didn’t get to wear my dress! I considered wearing my rehearsal dinner dress but then I got sad I wouldn’t have my rehearsal dinner. Glad it was just a dream!
Share your worst wedding nightmare!

I’ve had so many lol
Probably the worst was my mom was trying to put this huge crown on my head and I didn’t want it so I yelled at her. Then I was looking for my flowers but they were potted plants so I had to carry this little flower with the root ball and dirt down the isle. On top of that my DJ did my hair and makeup.
They’ll go away when it’s all over.

@Lizzy723: Lol that’s hilarious! I like the flower with a dirt ball attached and the fact the DJ was your hair and makeup artist.

@butterfliesandhoney: I’ve actually had several wedding “nightmares”:
- I was at the altar with my MUM and my fiance wasn’t standing with me – he was sitting with our guests in the pews! Mum stood with me the whole time – it was like I was marrying her instead!
- I’m at the end of the aisle in my long white dress. I walk down to the end and half of the skirt has ripped off!
- We’re watching a show at the amphitheatre, sitting on a grassy hill looking down at the stage in our singlets, shorts and thongs (flip flops!). Suddenly, my fiance disappears from next to me and he’s down there, and they’re calling me down with the microphone to get married!
- I have dreams where we arrive at the reception venue, and they’re still putting up decorations and the function coordinator comes up to me (I’m all dressed up in my wedding gear) and asks me what colour napkins I want. The tables are bare, and there is no food in sight.

i had a dream early on after we got engaged that 1. I didn’t have my dress and no one cared (must be a common theme) 2. My photographer was on roller skates and yelling at me like paparazzi and 3. The altar was a rock climbing wall.
I was so freaked out when I woke up.

I’ve also had a few! One of them I was marrying a girl I went to high school with, and half way through the ceremony i was like -wait, I’m not a lesbian! and tried to win SO back which was stressful. Another was me marrying SO, but the photographer I wanted wasn’t there and I was trying to call him and convince him to come, and the wedding was clearly thrown together and was total crap- I was so sad! Wedding dreams can be so weird….

The dress! It’s always the dress!
Dress is missing.
Dress has stains all over it.
Dress was left @ home.
That damn dress!

All my wedding nightmarish-dreams consisted of being the ceremony earlier than planned (more like a shotgun-wedding) but everyone was still invited and I haven’t even bought a dress yet. In most dreams I was running from store to store with mum beside me, trying to pick up a dress or a suit for my then Fiance. Or the ceremony almost started and my hair was not done yet.
When we got married the dreams went away – except for one time I saw that it was my wedding day. I was getting married to my husband, but when I was having my hair done, I was told that someone was waiting outside for me. I went to greet them and it’s hard to explain but I saw my husband as if he was my ex. He cried and told me he was too late, I was getting married and he lost me. And I cried with him, tried to console him. (All this time I was still getting married to my husband, it was as if there were two of them.) He was so heartbroken, he said he would always love me, then he turned and left. Seeing him like that woke me up crying. It was so weird, I had a tough time to explain to my husband why I was crying. It was like “I’m crying because I had to break your heart by marrying the other-you, and I’m still sad although we’re married already!” LOL =D

@butterfliesandhoney: I keep having the same wedding nightmare. We are getting married in my childhood home backyard, but no one covered the pool, so people in suits and fancy clothing are literally walking and standing in the pool, while we’re getting married.

- Wedding: October 2014 - UK
@butterfliesandhoney: I had one where we actually forgot to go to our reception venue. Like, literally everyone at the wedding forgot we were supposed to be going somewhere else. And I kept thinking the atmosphere seemed a bit flat and disappointing, because we were just in this bland white room somewhere, but my dream self rationalised that it was because I’d just been looking forward to it for so long that of course it wouldn’t live up to the expectations. And then in the car on the way home afterwards I realised that we’d forgotten to go to the reception, but despite me begging everyone to go back with me, everyone refused.
I got Very upset.

@butterfliesandhoney: I have had a few wedding nightmares (nothing was planned, invitations didn’t go out, my dress didn’t fit) but my worst was when I had a dream that my Fiance and I were at summer camp for adults and his ex was there and she kept commenting about how he didn’t look happy to marry me. He just sat there and didn’t say anything.
I told him about it the next day and he laughed because everyone told him that he never looked happy when he was with his ex (like his mom and best friend) but they always comment about how happy he looks with me. Lol.
Its always hard to shake the anxiety you feel when you wake up, but our dreams aren’t rational and are never straight forward…so I try to shrug them off ASAP.

@butterfliesandhoney: Four words: red gingham wedding dress.
It was TERRIFYING.

@butterfliesandhoney: Without fail, any time that I am going to try on my dress, I have a dream that it is A. Grey (no idea why) and B. it doesn’t have a prayer of fitting.

I keep having nightmares that I forget to order the cornhol boards (a must for FI). In my last one, my mom got drunk on martinis!
