- Wedding: July 2011
…and it was so much fun. Only 4 (of the 12?!?) people who RSVP’s showed up, plus the two of us and our Bridesmaid or Best Man who planned it, so there were only 7 of us total… but we had a blast. Proof that things can go wrong and still turn out wonderfully!!! We had it in our home with one of her BM’s hosting the whole thing- we (untraditionally) helped with the food and such but that’s because I love to cooke and bake, plus our Bridesmaid or Best Man host is 6 months pregnant- I didn’t want her to have to do tooooo much work. Anyways, it was amazing, we got some nice gifts, and oh yeah- pictures below!
Goody bags and Dessert Buffet:
Yummy homemade cheese fondue:
The spread included hamburgers, bbq chicken, lemon pepper chicken, baked beans, homemade potato salad, plus wine, soda, and iced tea:
mini cheesecakes!!! mmmmm…
And orange-cherry jello cups (can you tell we like dessert)?
We decorated using some of the same decorations that will be at our wedding… those lanterns, and the bouquets will both be used in the wedding! That’s also an extra invitation from our DIY message-in-a-bottle invitations on the mantelpiece, plus the blue thing is one of the programs. We wanted to have this stuff out to show people because the people who came to the shower won’t be at the wedding (most of them), but will be at our at home reception (we live in Indiana and are getting married in Cali).
Artists working on their creation for the toilet paper dress contest…
Me, left, and Bridesmaid or Best Man Nicole (who hosted the party) right, working on our TP creation.
All four toilet paper brides! Me and Fiance, center. The girl on the right won!
Opening presents. =)
One of the beautiful cards we received (I started to tear up reading them!):
It was a great evening! I can’t believe it’s over. I have my dress fitting today, and then after that the next thing I have to look forward to is leaving for California in a little less than three weeks! Crazy!!!
