+1 to doing it with stamps! The lady asked me how many stamps I needed and I totally panicked and the only number I could think of was our total guest count! 🙂
I’ve definitely used them all up with all the thank-you’s too though..

I ordered too many invites b/c I overestimated our guest list, but DH was the one who did something similar to you but with the RSVP responses. He would mark down couples’ responses as 1 person. I had to quickly fix things so that each couple response was 2 people. He also forgot to add us to the guest list for how many people the restaurant would need to cook for. D’oh!

Omg, the restaurant thing, thats another brain fart I had. We’re doing catering, but for the longest time I had the number of guests we’re having as the number of people we need food for. I realized what I was doing though, luckily. Now we’re over guestimating for the food, just in case people want seconds. Or for people like my brother whos idea for a meal size is double that of most people.

I ordered RSVP envelopes and there was a minimum of 50 or 100, something like that. Rather than eat the cost, I just designed my thank you cards to fit the RSVP card size, and re-used the envelopes.
Any chance you can do something similar?

I could use the envelopes, sure, but I’d still have tons of extra invitations. Its not really a big deal though, I was just laughing at my dinkyness.

I almost did that too! Luckily I caught it just before I ordered them!

I did this with our Save the Dates! I have so many extras. I ordered 20 less than the number I was inviting, but still that was too many!
I did much better on invitations.

This post just saved me some money! Thanks for the heads up. I spent all day looking at possible invites, and have been quoting double what I actually need.

lol I could totally see myself doing that!!
