So, I had my hair and makeup trial on Saturday. I love love loved my hair and I keep flip flopping on my makeup. I loved it, then I was lukewarm, then I loved it again, and so on and so one. However, everyone else really loved it and my fiance told me my eyes looked “really pretty” and that they “popped” – he doesn’t often say things like that so that was really nice. 😀
The only thing that really concerned me was that my fake eyelashes came partially off of one eye 2 hours into our engagement shoot (we scheduled the shoot for right after the trial). HOWEVER – I’m not sure if I should fault the makeup artist because we were on the beach and it was CRAAAZY windy.
Anyhow the first three pics are my inspiration pics (first two are hair and third one is makeup inspiration), and the rest are of me looking like a complete spaz. lol. I have no idea why I’m making such dumb faces, lol.
But anyhow! Are my fears (hopefully) unwarrented?? Does it look okay?? Be gentle! 🙂

Wow, I have to agree with your Fiance, I think themakeup is really wow. The colour palette she used really enhances your features and enlarges your eyes, but in a sneaky almost subtle way.
I would say to voice your concern about the eyelash glue, and see what she can do.
I also like that the hair is exactly like your inspiration pictures. Well done to your hairdresser!

What is it that you think you don’t like about your makeup? I think it looks very pretty! It is hard to tell from the photos, but maybe she can add some shimmer along your tearducts. I would prefer lipstick that’s a little pinker, but your makeup artist really did a great job! You look beautiful and happy! 🙂

I think the curls in the hair are a lot looser. Could you try adding a little more volume at the roots too?
I love the concept though and the makeup. The only slight difference between your pic and the inspiration pics seems to be that the inspiration girl has more shading under the eye; it’s a little more smokey.

I think you look gorgeous!

your makeup is gorgeous! I love the colors and you look really beautiful!
However, I would be concerned that your curls would fall after 20 minutes…they look too loose. I would ask for tighter curls and more volume, and make sure they will stay in. Have dirty hair on the day of, curls like dirty hair better than squeeky clean!

Thanks so much for the input ladies!!
I really appreciate the sweet comments and I already feel a TON better just having read your nice words. 🙂
I think the shimmer around the tear ducts might help a LOT – I generally do that for my day to day makeup, so perhaps thats what I felt like was missing? I also generally wear a pinker lip – and was so tempted to ask for it – but everrrryone loves the coralish color on me (and it might look better on me truthfully, idk), so I stuck with it.
I will definitely voice my concern on the eyelash glue, maybe he’ll just have to use more the day of. Thats what really concerned me more than anything. I was also expecting my eyelashes to look super huge and full (a la Zooey Deschanel) with the false eyelashes but I didn’t think they looked much different to be honest? Maybe I need to provide him with my own fake eyelashes that I pick out? No idea… I wish I could figure out how to apply them myself just in case they do need to be reapplied the day of the wedding. Any tips on that? lol.
As for the hair, I actually asked her to try it loose – but we realized I need the tighter curls for the day of (her suggestion). So that will definitely happen! 🙂 I will also definitely take the advice of the dirty hair – my hair was clean for this and had also just been blow dried/straightened the day before because I got my highlights done so I think thats why it fell so quickly. I do love my hairstyle she did but I def think tighter curls will be better for the day of. 🙂

Your makeup looks fantastic! The colours used are what I would call “perfect wedding colours” for eye makeup. The girl did a great job!! 🙂

@Sparkle Pony: If applied correctly, you shouldn’t need to worry about reapplying the lashes! Just make sure your makeup artist checks that they’re on good before he leaves. But there are tons of youtube videos and tutorials online if you want to try it out for yourself. I like Ardell brand falsies, they are pretty cheap and you can usually find them at any drugstore.
I think most makeup artists try to go for the natural look for wedding day makeup. Maybe he was afraid to use more dramatic lashes since it might come off as fake? If you want fuller lashes, just make sure to let him know a head of times. If your makeup service comes with false eyelash application, you shouldn’t need to supply it yourself!
