SO I just had my wedding hair/makeup consultation (yay). She did a gorgeous, low swirly updo. But, I’m thinking I want my hair down and curly. I have thick, Indian hair and so it holds a curl really well. My ceremony is outside though and in the south where it is very humid. I’m going to list some pros for each.
What would you do? Do you think that hair down doesn’t go well with a veil? That’s my main concern. I also am concerned that hair up will give me a headache because I do have thick hair. I just don’t know what to think 🙁 I’m not a big fan of the compromise-half up half down.

I think hair down is more timeless… so I would opt for that than a updo (some if not done loosely seem dated very soon after).

The problem with a lot of updos, is that they all look great from the back and the sides, but 90% of your wedding pictures will be from the front- just something to consider.
I wore my hair half up. My wedding was inside, but my wedding day was extremely humid and my hair doesn’t hold a curl very well. A good hair stylists will know the right products to get it to stick. Maybe an updo would have been more comfortable in all the heat for the outside photos, but my photos look awesome. I never wear my hair up, so I wouldn’t have been happy with it up in all my photos. And to be honest, I think veils look a lot better with hair down styles that updos.
