Please let me know which style you like best. My dress is strapless satin & lace. My wedding will be a semi-casual ceremony on a beach. My hair is fairly long and a medium brown. I do have a feather/flower hairpiece that I think would work with either. I had my heart set on one of these styles, but am now considering the other. I won’t say which! Thanks for any opinions.

Combine the two. Use the braided front in oil #1 and the bun of the 2nd pic. I think it’d look good together

I like 2 the best. The braid is nice as well but more for vintage inspired themes and dresses to me.

I like the pp’s suggestion. Both would be gorgeous.

I agree with the previous poster. Combine the two. They are both beautiful!

Thanks everyone for the feedback! If it helps, this is my dress:

I love a braid. I think it looks fab.
But ultimately they are too very different styles. One is messy and fun (the braid), and the other is a classic slick look. Which do you prefer?

I voted jessica Alba’s braided look. But I am biased because that is the hairstyle that I am planning on doing as well!

I voted the bun because I’m seeing braids evvverywhere now. I also think the bun works much better with your dress.

While I love love love the braided look (I love braids and it looks very easy-going and beachy) I think your dress is too elegant for the laid back look of #1. The sleek look of #2 will definately compliment your dress 🙂

I am so thankful for all of the suggestions. The braided style has been my plan for about a year. I am pretty laid back and thought it might compliment the formal dress because I will be barefoot on a beach. My concerns are that I have seen photos of hairstylists trying to recreate it with really bad results. I also have a friend that knew a bridesmaid who had it done and said it fell out in two hours. The second photo is more simple and timeless, more likely to actually look like the photo in real life, and I really do like it. So I am still torn!

Braids always look “sporty” to me.
