For me, I personally would find it a bit much, but then again, it depends on what time your shower is and what type of party it is. Mine is just a few hours in the afternoon on a Sunday with a few family members and friends, so I would look silly if I was all dolled up. What kind of shower are you having? Is it predominantly friends? Family? Both? Afternoon or evening? In home or at a restaurant? You get the idea.

I won’t be doing it.  I personally love the look of having hair and make-up done but I think its a bit too much of a hassle for a shower.  Unless you’re only interested in a nature, fresh look.  I wouldn’t say its totally not worth it though, afterall, there will be tons of pictures of you.  A lot of times, if we’ve got an important event, I’ll go to the MAC counter, have them do my make-up and just buy a couple products.  That way its kinda free and it always seems to look good.  When I do that, I usually just put my hair in hot rollers, its like an at home makeover.

Me neither, but I think it’s always fun to get gussied up – I would just be careful not to go overboard if it’s a casual shower.

@artbee – that made me chuckle.  I’m kinda the same way… which makes me think the wedding day might be kinda nervewracking. ๐Ÿ™‚

I didn’t do professional hair/makeup, but I had a relatively low-key shower. If you feel like you want to, go ahead!
