hi sthumbelina! i was originally going to book a place in flushing and heard good reviews about a specific place on main street, but decided against it after i tried to make an appointment for a trial (for my engagement shoot) and they canceled at the last minute… thus i was left to do my makeup on my own. they also did not have set prices and would quote me something different every time i called. i started researching other stylists and decided to hire sally duvall (for makeup) and stacy pitt (for hair) and both are willing to come on location as part of their fee (which most places in flushing are not willing to do). you’d think they would be pricier than flushing salons… but when you do the math (for all the extras a flushing salon would charge to come on site) they’re about the same. you can check out my posts on my hair and makeup trials here:

My hairdresser is named Pauli at Panyc Salon, 212-675-7269, http://www.panyconline.com/.  I have been going to him for years and years and love him, and would trust him with anything.

hey girl! just wanted to give some props to the makeup artist who did me, her name is Erica and she’s Chinese & something else and I really loved her. I found out about her from the knot.com’s boards about asian makeup artists and I contacted her. If you are interested:

She came to the house the day of and she did myself and 4 girls. If you have any questions, let me kno!
