Do people sometimes do their hair and makeup trial on the day of the bridal shower, or would it look too formal and out-of-place? For context, I’m not doing an updo, so my hair won’t be over-the-top formal, and I don’t care about surprising anybody on the wedding day, so that’s not a concern either.

I think thats a cool idea. At least you will look all sorts of pretty for the pics that will be taken at your shower!

Sure. Why not? I guess it could depend on the shower but who cares? You’re the bride, if you want to look more dressed up, do it.

If you don’t care about surprising people and it’s not a super formal up-do I say go for it! I would do the same. Then you won’t have to worry about doing your hair or makeup either. Sounds like a win-win.

I had my makeup trial the morning of my shower. Everyone was giving me compliments on my makeup at my shower so it was a good way to see if it wasn’t too dramatic or anything.

I did this, I had her change up my hair a little bit at the end so it didn’t look exactly like my wedding hair. I also had her tone down the make up a little bit at the end because my shower was a brunch in June and my wedding will be a formal night time wedding in November. She was more than happy to tweak my look a little bit.

I’ve heard of people doing this and I think it’s a good strategy. I scheduled my hair and make up trial the same day I did a boudoir photoshoot for my husband’s gift.
