I debated over my hair and makeup team for awhile, checking reviews and looking at portfolios. I finally decided and had my trial on Saturday.
I had quite a few inspiration photos — the main ones included. I was expecting them to try out a couple different styles to see what I liked best. However, they just did one. When I looked in the mirror, it looked nice–but not exactly what I wanted and looked a little too “night out with the girls”. Since they weren’t intending on changing it that day, I didn’t speak up (I am very non-confrontational).
To make matters worse, my hair completely fell within 3 hours — which definitely won’t do on the wedding day.
I am going to be emailing the company to let them know that I want to have a few things changed. I have an easier time voicing my concerns when I have specifics to mention. Can you ladies help me out on what to ask to be changed? I also included a picture with my regular makeup so you can see my regular style (basically bronzer, eyeliner and mascara).
Thank you so much!
(I loved her hair and makeup!)

It’s hard to tell since those photos are kind of blurry. Did the curls come out? Does that normally happen with your hair? Maybe you could ask for the whole front to be pulled up instead of just a bit?
Also, I would go a bit lighter on the eye make-up. It could just be the darkness of the photo though.

I can’t really see the makeup too well, but I think you look good. I like the hair in the initial picture, before it dropped. I have no clue how they are going to fix that for you, but they definitely need to figure it out if you plan on wearing your hair down. It is possible for curls to stay all night. I wore mine down, got it curled between about 10-11 am, and my wedding wasn’t even until 5. Aside from that I feel like the poof in front looks higher in the 2nd photo, and I think it looks better a little flatter, like in the 1st pic. Is the poof braided or twisted on the side? I think that would also look pretty. All in all though, it clear that the hairstylist didn’t curl your hair to the same degree as the woman in the inspiration picture has hers curled to.

@somerrae: Both look good, but I actually prefer you with the daily makeup! I know that’s not the answer you want – so for changes, I think you can ask them to go a little lighter on the foundation – you don’t appear to need much per your daily pic. Also, have you tried contouring (high cheekbones)? That could add that extra oomph that you don’t do every day. 🙂 Personally, I think the eyes came out fine per these pics.

@somerrae: The first thing I noticed is they are way off on your shade of foundation and/or powder. They also did a poor job of blending it in around your forehead. The foundation and/or powder seems to have an orange hue to it. It doesn’t look very natural IMO. They did a good job on your eye make-up. It looks nice and resembles the first photo very closely. The hair looks lovely, as well. However, I would be concerned if it didn’t stay in after three hours.
I would consider doing another trial or trying another cosmetologist. If you go back to the same person I’d ask for a better match of foundation/powder or perhaps use your own. Your own foundation/powder in the last photo looks a lot more flattering on you.
You’re a pretty girl and I’m sure you’ll make a beautiful bride. Keep us posted.
