Had my hair and makeup trial today and I love it!
My hair is naturally curly so for my May wedding, I should probably have my hair up because of the humidity in Florida. I’ve only recently worn my hair up once, so it’s still new to me.
With bangs down:
With bangs pulled back:
The lip color was just something I threw on. For my portraits and for the day of I’ll wear false lashes too!
So excited! 😊

Ok, I really like the hair but honestly, the makeup needs improvement. The lip color in the last photo is really nice but it’s the only thing that made me go “yeah!”
I think these are the biggest issues:
-Your MUA used too dark of a shade on your brows. Brows SHOULD be darker than your hair color, but only by a shade or so. She did yours way too dark and thick. The inner edges really need to be thinned out with a spooly, too. They’re way too “caterpillar” the way she did them and it’s distracting
-a bit more eyeliner on the upper lashline and less on the lower lashline would really open up your eyes more, esp if you’re going to be rocking falsies
-you have great cheeks and dimples and she did not use enough blush to capitalize on that!
-the foundation looks too dark in the first two pics, but closer to your skin tone in the third pic. But in all of them, it looks like she didn’t blend it with your neck/clavicle area enough. That’s an easy fix.

my eyebrows are naturally thick, so she hardly did anything. I think what she used to contour my face is a little dark. But yeah, I agree with you!
I really only did the trial this early to see if I liked her work, and so I could see what we could change and fix between now and then. 🙂
thank you all!

Honestly I didn’t really notice the darker shade until nimhsparkly pointed it out. If it was someone who wasn’t sent to scrutinize and review your makeup, I am sure the normal person would not even notice the difference. I just thought you looked nice and you have a great smile! Being happy on your big day is going to matter a lot more than hair and makeup, since photo editing nowadays can do wonders but photoshopping a smile on will just look out of place.
I personally like thick, dark brows! It’s fashionable in Asian countries to have naturally thicker brows. It makes you look more youthful–but then again, NOBODY looks good with pencil-drawn brows.
Nope. Just nope to that.
Also, I find noticeable blush to be too clownish to see in person. Might look good in photos, though.
I am biased though, since I prefer natural-looking makeup.

thank you! I went to a baby shower today for my cousin with my hair and makeup done and everyone complimented me! So, I didn’t really notice anything terribly wrong with it at all today. My skin is usually very dry but the makeup set so perfectly. She did blend some of it down to my chest, but I’m VERY pale so I’m sure it didn’t really make a difference. I wanted a natural look, but I know the makeup should be darker/heavier to show up in pictures.
Brows are a thing in my family. So not only are mine thick but they’re dark as well. And I agree with you, super thin brows are a huge no no for me, and I think that they wouldn’t look good on me anyways. 🙂

Brows must be a regional thing because at the moment in Australia strong brows are very fashionable.
Anyway, I think you look beautiful! Love it all!

aw, thank you! I’m actually part Australian! My great grandma was a war bride and was full blooded Australian. 🙂

You’re so pretty! I love your smile, and as PP said, your confident happiness will shine through and is the most important thing. I used to be a professional MUA and I like what she did.
I would do a pinker nude lip and a bit more blushing bride cheeks, and maybe knock out some of the lower liner and add a nice smoked and sparkly chocolate or copper depending on your lips and blush color. But if you got married just like this, it would be beautiful:-)

thank you! I hardly wear any lip color and I just threw on whatever I had. I want to find a good pink lipstick that lasts but one that also compliments my skin tone. I always pick the same shade it seems, and it always looks horrible.

I personally think you look amazing!! The foundation does look a bit too dark in a couple of the pics, but aside from that I wouldn’t change a thing!! And I especially love the eye makeup, lower liner and all!!

I just wanted to throw in the shadow needs to be blended out more.

thanks! I’m taking notes. But I don’t personally see an issue with how it looks now.
